Why would you buy a split type AC over a window AC?

Air conditioners with split systems must have something beneficial in them that they are so widely used. You will see that in most homes, offices, and large commercial spaces there are split-system air conditioners rather than window ACs.

Finding the right brand with beneficial features is okay but along with this, you must also ensure that you are buying the right type of AC for your home or office.  It is important to know about the advantages of using a split systems because it will help you make well informed decision when you agree to buy this type of air conditioner.

Hence, in this article, we are going to find out some of the advantages of buying a split system AC over a normal and more traditional window AC.

Let’s begin…

Easier installation process

With the split systems, you don’t need any form of ductwork to be done. You only need around a 3-inch thick pipe connecting the indoor unit to the outdoor unit and a small hole in the wall to allow the pipe inside the room. But with the window type AC or the duct ACs, you need plenty of ductwork that means breaking the walls and renovating the roofs which will only increase the overall cost. So not only is the installation process for a split-type AC going to be easy but it is also going to charge you less.

Much quiet while operating

You must have found out about the noise difference between the split systems AC and a window AC. If you have been to someone’s home with the traditional forms of AC turning it on creates a sort of disturbing sound, to say the least. This sound is because of the outlet fans that are letting out the hot air from the room. But with a split system AC the outdoor unit is separated from the indoor unit and this creates much less noise.

Better home décor with a split type AC

You will find that the split system AC fits in much better with the décor of your room. The split system ACs are wonderfully fitted on the walls high up and this does not block airflow into the room as well. The split system also have a nice design to fit into your room and give a nice elegant look to your house. On the other hand, the window ACs will block off a window as they necessarily have to be fitted on windows and this surely means that you will not be able to use the window ever again. Even when the AC is not in use you will not be able to open the window as they will be removed and the window will be sealed with wooden frames as a supporting structure for the AC.

Conclusion

With the split systems, there is no doubt it will provide you with even cooling. You can find the ACs that are slit ones to be fitted much high up on the walls and this uniformly cools the whole room including the walls and the rooftops. But the same is not true with a window AC. Being fitted to a window they generally are fitted way at lower levels generally within 6 to 7 feet height whereas your ceiling or rooftop is way beyond that. This means that the AC generally circulates the air below up whereas the air above is relatively much warmer. You can almost feel this difference when you stand upon an elevated plain area such as your bed or a sofa.
